Gender Equality
Gender equality (in relationships especially) is a mirage, a myth.
Men are, by default, the dominant gender. And will always be. It is not a social construct. It is a biological, neurological, physiological, psychological evolutionary "fact."
Denialism/deflection helps no one
There are certain characteristics that makes it easier for one gender to dominate another. Agreeableness, for example, and those other variety of evolution I've mentioned.
Dominance is a natural process. Its been going on for thousands of years. And won't end at all.
Take a relationship between Lesbians of a gay couple as an example. There's always the dominant partner.
Social hierarchy is a natural. The Idea of equality,of any kind, is just a Marxist, terribly totalitarian, farce. It exists for debates and outrage and, yes, power dynamism
What dominance means (and should mean) for every man in this modern era should be prudent leadership in relationships.
And this requires competence, strength, resolve, assertiveness, empathy.
A man who exhibits this qualities and cares, protects, respects his partner and family is a great leader. He'd be loved by all, applauded, his family will thrive, everyone will be happy. That is what the dominance of a man should be. Quality, pluralistic, inclusive leadership.
Please don't mistake abusive dominance with masculinity. A man who physically and verbally abuses his partner and family is a terrible leader. A man who abuses his masculinity isn't "man enough." Such a man is Bad for his family, bad for society
How men perform in their role is what really matters and is something men should be committed to--- being competent, effective leaders for their partners and their family.
