The Reacher and Settler

"Robin explained, "Every good relationship has a reacher and a settler." Ted went on to explain that one person reaches for someone out of their league and the other person settles for someone below theirs. "
    If you have not watched 'How I Met Your Mother' , then you probably should ignore the above paragraph. Now, here's the information. It's a scene from the movie where four friends are seated having drinks and two of the friends begin explaining to the dating couple among the four about who is and who isn't a settler and a reacher. 
    A Reacher is the ambitious one, the one who seeks to make people say "huh, na jazz he/she use" or something mild like " he's a lucky guy" or "she's a lucky girl."
     And the settler, he or she could have more than she's getting  but she's settling coz love is an ass.  Love rids us off our brains. 

      But there are some close calls where it's hard to say who is really reaching coz they seem like an even pair.  The rule of Settler and Reacher always applies to every relationship,  it's as old as creation postulated 762 AD by sapondiculos(if you just believed this last sentence , then you're a gullible human being)  but back to it, in tight calls, behavioural patterns tell the difference.  
   Here are a few; 
    The reacher is way more worried about if the other is cheating 
    The reacher is first to update on Facebook about the new relationship .
    The reacher calls more often,says more I love you. By now you get the story.
     It's left to wonder? Why is this important ? 
What does it change? Honestly, I really don't know. I could make up some dumb reason in a bid to sound smart but I really don't know. It's just some information to have when there's nothing to talk about between you and your significant other.
