You don't need Him
I know a friend, tall, dark and handsome fellow. A brilliant doctor who just graduated, he was utterly full of himself and appeared too confident for comfort. I know it seems i have his personality all amped-up but he did have his flaws that aren't quite relevant to this article.
We had a talk sometime ago about a conversation he had with his ex-girlfriend, she said something that annoyed him; she told him that when he leaves school he shouldn't forget how she suffered with him and was there for him.
He asked her how she had suffered and what exactly he shouldn't forget. He wondered was it the meals she preapred or the very few times she washed his clothes? All of which were generous, wilful acts duly appreciated.
He asked her what about the money he brought in gifts and in response to demands?
He couldn't get why women feel the need to associate themselves or buy themselves a place in a man's secure future. They "behave themselves", cook, and wash as leverage for bargaining.
There's no day i don't come across a quote or a video emphasising how important a good woman is to a man in building and grooming a man. There's even the saying that behind a successful man there is a strong woman. We have all heard that one.
Do people( especially women) realise that there are men, alot of men out there who don't need a woman to build or shape them, They don't need a woman's wisdom or gentle hand to be better. These men are refined men.
Here's what i think. The whole "be a good woman" plot stems from Society's grooming of women to be subservient to men. Often times when a the picture of a good woman is painted, its often tantamount to a slave: it's a woman without her own life except that of her husband and children. It's a woman who can clean, wash, cook, have great sex with her husband to keep him from looking outside, a woman who is ready to ready to sacrifice her life for that of her children. A woman whose prayers is more than enough to cover for her family.
A woman is branded as successful when she can get, keep a man and bare a male child.
Women need to own their own lives and Strive to get something for them. I'm not preaching that women shouldn't strive to better the life of their partners. I would never preach that!
My message is women shouldn't have their lives centred on a man. It's a precarious life choice.
Dear woman, live for you.
