The Condom Panic

There's a Chemist on the ground floor of my leasement.
7.34pm that night, I rush down to buy Sachet water.
By Sachet Water, I actually mean Sachet water.
There was this young guy, who was there before me. He just didn't say a thing.

"Wetin you wan buy?"
The nurse who sells asked.

"Nor worry, sell for am first I go wait"

And oh, I totally understood.
The buying condom panic

I don't know if it's an African or Nigerian thing but it's ironic that people are judged for doing the right thing.
The right thing? Yes, buying condom is the right thing.

I know
I know
I know.
As Christians huh? Sex is a sin. It's fornication and disgraceful. Right? But let's face it, sex is everywhere; on the streets, on our phones, on the T.V . Sex sells and everyone seems to be having it.
Some folks downright don't care about judgement at been sexually active.
Others? Well, they are like the guy who was ready to wait for everyone to finish buying before making his condom order.

These are people who have been subdued to doing the right thing in hiding because we have let religion tear into our sense of judgement.

I remember a funny incident, i hopped off the bike that dropped me and as I got out money to pay, a condom fell off my pocket. It was such a public area and people were watching as I slowly bent down to pick my evidence of shame. As I looked to the people around, their faces were filled with such disgust.
Well, what to do. I picked up my "thing" and went my way but isn't it strange, that you will be judged for trying to be cautious.

I'm not for "pre-marital sex" but I'm not against someone trying not to get a UTI or being a father too early.
The right thing is abstinence
But when someone fails to either accept your faith or live by it, don't judge.
