Why do girls love bad boys?

Girl with not so fine boyfriend, he's a bit of a flirt and much of jerk and this bestfriend of hers, sweet to a fault and handsome.
It's the classic "Relationship Picture".

Pardon the title of the article. I skipped the question if girls actually love bad boys, but i like to believe they do. Every girl may have their definition for who a bad boy is but there's a fine line which they all converge and it is that bad boys are more interesting, they offer more adventure.

So what is it about a bad boy that girls love?
What makes a bad boy "bad" ?
And where do Good Boys get it wrong?

The thing is, to be a "bad boy" doesn't just lie on the guy. Girls play a really big role on deciding if a boy is bad or not.
Before i confuse you and even myself, here's exactly what i mean....

For a boy to be a bad boy, he should possess certain qualities
He should be smart; i once asked a score of girls to choose in order of importance the qualities they love the most in a guy out of smartness, resourcefulness, wealth, sexiness, looks and social skills. 7 out of 10 girls picked smartness as their number 1.
Its no lie when people say smartness is sexy.

Bad boys are patient,
"Nigerian girls love to form" . I've heard that sentence more than Arsenal Fans insult Wenger, but i think its wrong. Girls all around the world "form". They all do, its innate. No one wants to come off as needy.
In as much as they love to act like they don't care, when they slightly like you, they want you not to go . Bad boys know and stay a little longer.
The danger of this advice is that "the good ones" will not know when the flag she's raising is actually red.

Here's how the girls play a role in determining who is a bad boy
There's a Nature and Nurture rule for women.
Women are made to Care and Complain. Its just in-built and they need a man they can express those contrasting attributes on.
Women want you nice but not too nice, they want some potholes or blindspots they can complain about and try to help you fix.
Women want to complain about your scattered clothes, help you arrange and warn you not to leave them scattered again but they secretly hope you don't so they can complain again.

Women are innately selfish but in a good way.
Women want a bad boy thats good for only them. You know how the word "too much" is bad except we are referring to fried plantain ?  Too much of badness is a certain turn off, women want the appropriate bad where they believe they can change the guy.
Nothing is more flattering to a woman than having a bad boy who is good only for her.

And lastly
Women love a sense of protection.
They know it that they are weaker vessels  physically with exception to Bini women.  This knwolgede goes some way in choosing a partner.
Someone who can fight for them even if they get beaten up would please any woman. Its the effort that matters.

In the end, we should all be bad boys because bad boys get the girls.
