RE-INCERNATION: FACT OR FALSE (PART TWO)

In the first part of this article, I outlined the alleged evidences of re-incarnaton but there are always two sides to a coin but unlike the arguments that favor, arguments against re-incarnation are mostly motions as they cannot be theoretically served like evidences.
While they may be few, many religions especially Christianity has debunked the claim with evidences from the holy books/scrolls. There are four main (non religious) motions against re-incarnation:
1 An argument of population growth. It claims that if new souls are never created or destroyed but are only reborn into other bodies as claimed by the apostles of re-incarnation, why then is there a population growth? In Tertullian’s words in “A Treatise on the soul 30”, he said “If the living come from the dead, just as the dead proceed from the living, then there must always remain unchanged one and the selfsame number of mankind”.

2 The argument of past life memories. “If reincarnation is true and we have lived previous lives, why don’t we remember those lives? The soul does not forget” This argument was further strengthened by the fact that those who claim to have re-incarnated do not provide very detailed information about their previous lives

3 Maarten Peters and his colleagues of the Department of Experimental Psychology at Maastricht University in the Netherlands conducted researches on patients of reincarnation therapists who were hypnotized to help them remember their past lives. The results found that “people who believe they had previous lives are committing a source-monitoring error or an error in judgment about the original source of a memory, this leads to false memories which is the confusion of imagination with memory. Peter says “once familiarity of an event is achieved, this can relatively easily be converted into a belief that the event took place”.

4 The Recency of Life- Paul Edwards in his book “Re-incarnation- A Critical Examination” in 1996 postulates that science shows that after the big bang (story for another day), there was no life for billions of years bur reincarnation postulates a series of incarnations stretching back into the past without limit and this is clearly inconsistent with the facts.

What is humanity without controversies and diverse-beliefs? But whether re-incarnation is fact or false, I will leave it to you to decide. I might even be Shakespeare I think
