HOW BEAUTIFUL
I had Agaba criminal litigation in front of me
Headphones plugged in
The topic was constitutional safeguards
And then Don Williams "till the rivers run dry" begins playing
And I am at once overwhelmed by nostalgic feelings
I smile and drift far away
I recall, still smiling...those times a few years ago, all 7 of us packed in a car travelling back home from a convention in Benin,darkness falling fast...Don Williams playing on the stereo and the whole family singing along. Best childhood memories i have.
And in those moments it was clear how much my parents loved each other. It was pure and unselfish. No strings attached , just two people who met, fell in love and decided to have a family together.
I remember thinking "how beautiful"
I wanted what they had...and more.
Skiborobo skibo yekpa oshey baddest. I was jolted back into reality. Ah! This generation...sigh
The generation where Love has lost it's true essence
Where the only concern is how "made" he is or whether her shape is the bomb.
Where the man's ultimate aim is no longer to win the heart of the woman but between her legs
And the girl is no longer interested in his potential but whether she can "chop him".
It's sad that future generations may have forever lost the opportunity to know what love truly should be.
